I recently clean my reel got it all clean and used some regular oil just a few drops here and there. Went to a fishing hole and cast and flip a grub for like 10 times. Everything was working fine and then it started to lag. It was cold so it lagged when. When i got home i warmed up reel with heat gun and then flip in driveway and it was working fine again. then i knew it was the oil.

What kind of oil and grease should I use after cleaning reel?

Too much viscosity.

Any good grade of Reel oil. I use ReelX and Bocca High Speed Oil in the shop.

Oil the worm with about 4 drops. Do not use grease at it collects contaminants.

I can sell you ReelX or you can buy at at Smoothdrag.com. Same price either way.

Grease on the frame and gears for bay reels. Offshore is different.

for grease Ive been using Hot Sauce or Daiwas Blue space age grease and love that stuff..
For oiling bearings the Boca Lightning oil has been working great along with the hot sauce oil..
Daiwas Blue or red oil is also very nice oil..

well, i think it depends on kind of reel possibly salt or freshwater......It also comes down to confidence that the products you use will give excellent performance in return. We use Yellow rocket fuel on bearings, Super Lube on gears, Reel X for corrosion protection and anywhere else in reels. I can't tell anglers enough and we encourage them in our classes to remember one thing, " a little is good, but alot is a no-no." Whatever products you choose to use, don't over do with quantity. Remember, these are fishing reels, not big old machine. There's alot of good products on the market and different shops use the products that they have the most confidence. We use these products simply because we see the same reels year after year and can see how the performance of the products uses. good luck
