I am in the market to buy rain gear for the south Texas winter have looked at Basspro GoreTex & North Face, just wanted to know how other fisherman rate their rain gear before I drop $200+ on some. Thanks for sharing.

I am a fan of Marmot or Mountain Hardware. They both have served me very well for years. And this is what I fished in:

I have a parka and bibs from the Cabelas Guideware line. I have been very satisfied with it. Looking at the BPS brand, it looks like the same stuff just different brand logo sewed on. It's expensive stuff but well worth it.

If you want another option, some of the catfish guys use this suite that a guy up North sales. The Dan suite? I don't know why but for some reason "Dan" keeps coming to my mind when thinking about it. Catfish guys can give you more info.

I remember having is the water line that runs from the engine block to the water pressure gauge. The line did not rupture it just moved the needle of the gauge to about 5 lbs instead of zero(when not running) and stayed that way.Even the smallest amount of air stops it from pumping. Outboard motors have built in bleed holes that lets all the water drain out if you leave the motor down for a little while. If you are towing it a long distance in below freezing temps after loading it

Thanks for your sharing your experiences. I purchased Cabela's GuideWear which is currently on closeout sale they are apparently coming out with a new product line soon.
Purchased Guidewear insulated parka for $170 & matching bib for $149.99. Only being sold online & stores have already pulled product so i did not have an opportunity to try on but thru testimonies & reviews I thought it was a great deal.
Thanks again

Dcm, is that for the hole ecwcs system? Or for the shells? Cause its a 5 to 7 layer system that's rated for -50 or so wet weather. And I need some of that stuff as sme of my gear has been stolen
