What catfish bait do you prefer, for rod and reel fishing? And what set up do you use tight line, hook above sinker or bobber. What dough baits are the best. Can you buy chum or do you make it? Thanks

oh, and as far as the chum. Feed store, 50lb bag of whole grain wheat and let it sit in a couple of 5 gallon buckets.

I hear that jpigg is good stuff. Ive used the sureshot and its awesome too. Throwback, hollar at me next time you buy some of that jpiggs, I would love to get some. The shipping prices have been deterring me from ordering any punch bait.

The shipping prices have been deterring me from ordering any punch bait. Will do Jake. It shouldn't be too long before me and my pardner order some more. If you want we could pool resources and get a better shipping price. BTW my buddy has some Sure Shot and in a side by side test the Sure Shot and J Piggs were pretty well equal on Twin Buttes. It wasn't a real scientific comparison since the Sure Shot was a dip bait but, they were equal in results.

For blue and channels Lewis King Punch bait. From a boat with a #6 treble under a ship float from shore a 1/4 oz carolina rig loose line. Large Blues and Yellows: Hybrid bluegill on juglines.

If you want prepared baits--call Gary Rogers at 940-357-0558. He is located on Lake Arrowhead out of Wichita Falls and will ship (price of bait includes shipping). Good stuff--he has an ad on the Trading Post in this website. Good luck!!

If you are fishing in water over 3 or 4' deep and your line gets slack in it your bait will rise up, and you can't be sure about where in the water collum that your bait is in, it is a great rig for drift fishing, but if you are anchored or fishing deeper water, I would recomend pegging the line at the weight so it won't rise, or use a 3-way or a float rig!!! Good Luck to Ya!!!

Catfish Candy by Ole Fart Baits, Alba, Tx. Stink/punch bait that works! Better than DK and any others.

I reasonly changed to Lewis King Select with excellent success. I had been using Team Catfish Sudden Impact but the containers are not even half full.

Blue Cats: Shad on santee cooper rig, 2nd choice is bluegill on same rig. Channel cats: Punch bait, over soured wheat w/ #6 4x strong treble w/ 1/4oz weigh. +2 cut carp or buffalo work well on santee cooper rig too for punch bait, big marvs or sureshot.

If you can find it, pork liver works great. I had a man at the grocery meat section order me some last year.
