when do the crappie typically start running the creek channel in big groups at pines? We caught them two years ago I think in Feb., but missed it last year.

I've had luck in Jan to Feb on the Pine and the big Crappie love the Rosie Red Minnows. Good Luck I hope to come down in Jan.

Great lake for January & February crappie. I'm planning on running some trips there again this winter after our success there last year. The bite probably starts earlier but I'm usually busy on Cedar Creek till late December.
Good luck when you go.

You can catch good numbers of crappie all winter at the Pines. I usually start making my first runs about the first week in December. Fishing will be good all the way thru March. This winter time bite is fun! Good luck!
