I pulled a 26 pounder out of a pond in Keller using a bread ball over a treble hook. I often catch little ones on worms, but I was shocked to pull one the size of Curt's picture there out of a community pond.

soft shells are really good eating, u shouldve cleaned it.

Softshell and Snapper meat is great in a Gumbo. I prefer snapping turtle over the softshells though.

I’m surprised that soft-shell didn’t bite. The ones in Florida have a bad temper really hard to pick up because of their extremely large neck
