What's your Home Lake?

What do you consider your Home Lake? Why? How often do you fish other bodies of water besides your home lake?
I consider Eagle Mountain Lake my home lake, a couple of reasons 1) it is one of the few lakes close to me that I can still get on 2) I think I have only been skunked once on EM and that was the 3rd time I was ever on the lake.
I have and continue to fish as many lakes as I can around the North/East Texas area, some of the other lakes I have fished are Benbrook, Granbury, Arlington, Squaw Creek, Fork, Acquila, Tyler, Amon Carter, Pat Cleburne, I may have missed a couple, but I will get to all of them as soon as I can.
Let's hear yours!

Choke for me, since I lived in Corpus as a kid. Now, I'd have to say Dunlap since I live less than a mile from it.
Wish I could say Falcon or Amistad, but Amistad is and will always be my home away from home...lake.

Hey, Chad, hows Dunlap doing? I may be headed out there friday for the first time, planning on taking the Yak out, and seein about pickin up some bass, is the catfish/crappie fishin out there any good?
also I think id have to claim Canyon, and Medina as my home lakes, Canyon because its my go to spot for crappie fishin, and for whites and stripers, caught some really nice fish out of there. Medina on the other hand is my catfish hole, my Best friend's dad lives out there, so we will go up there and spend an entire week just catchin catfish, we average in the 15lb range with our record being a 68lb flathead....calaveras is my stompin grounds in the spring tho....gotta love those reds

Lake grapevine. I fish it about twice a week. As far as other lakes, I fish about 8 trips at grapevine for every one trip elsewhere.

Rayburn, lived within a mile of it for 5 years and then moved to Lufkin. Now I am the same distance to Sam and Nac, tough choice trying to decide whether to go left or right onto the loop.

Conroe now, but I've not had a chance to go out in my boat more than a handful of times. I do know how to catch a few in the community areas of my neighborhood though...

Ray Hubbard is the closet to me so I guess I'd say it's my "home" lake. Others I have fished since I got my boat 2 years ago are Athens, Big Creek, Bob Sandlin, Coffee Mill, Cedar Creek, Cypress Springs, Davy Crockett, Fork, LOP, Lavon, Mill Creek, Monticello, Pat Mayse, Purtis Creek, Tankersly, White Rock, Wright Patman. Good topic... been wondering how many different lakes I've taken my boat to since I got it and this was the perfect time to add it up, 18. Happy everyone!

Hubbard Creek and OH Ivie are my Home lakes. Bwood is closer, but I bypass it regularly.
I probably spend more time on Hubbard than Ivie.

I lived in Rome *ran a guide service* for three years and fished the Etowah, Brushy Branch, Coosa, and Weiss daily
Caught lots of Striper, a 14.6 LM, and gigantic crappies as well as monster blues

Twin Buttes as long as water remains in it. Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be for much longer. Not far behind being my home lake is Amistad.

Lake LBJ.... We got water!!!!(constant level). I try to fish it twice a week. From house to ramp I'm about 15 mins. away. I will occasionally fish Choke,Fork(twice a year) and once in a blue moon Lake Marble Falls. The closer to retirement I get the more I hope to branch out and fish other lakes but not until College is done for my son.

My house is in the NW quadrant of San Antonio, so I call Canyon and Braunig home lakes. My favorite lake is Amistad, and I'm planning on fishing it in the Spring. I'd go right now except that I don't have my stuff together. I've got to get the motorhome ready, and the boat and the Envoy AND the wife.

I am proud to say Fayette. There are about eight lakes with in a hundred miles one way from my home, but Fayette is the same distance as three other good lakes, but I chose to fish this one over the rest. I always put good numbers in the boat as well as some decent fish in the four to five pound range on every trip. What more could an angler ask for..........

Livingston or Houston. Spend most of my time on Livingston and the rest split between Houston and Houston county. But I have fished alot of the major lakes around east Texas and falcon in south . I have fished quite a bit in the Trinity, the San jacinoto, the neches, the sabine, and the red also.

lake ray hubbard is my home lake. To me it consistantly produces more big fish (for me) anyway than any other lake i have been on, and since it does i tend to stay on it more than any other lake. I have pics to prove its been a good lake to me

I live in Breckenridge,TX so for me my local lakes are Hubbard creek, Lake Daniels, and Possum Kingdom lake. I am an avid catfisherman and luv to crappie fish as well. Sure is sad this drought has affected our lakes, creeks, and fishin' holes in general.

Pat Cleburne lake is only 20 min from my house and i fish it 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time i go to the brazos to fish the sandies in the spring and the other lake i go to a few times a year is Alvarado Lake.
I usually try to go atleast three times a month, unless its during the summer and then i will go more.
This summer i was cut off after about the first of July. Everywhere i was catching fish in the spring and early summer was up 5 ft on the shore. More rain please!

I live on Lake Buchanan, right now all the ramps are high and dry. You can launch off the bank at certain spots, it's a good lake for largemouth and stripers.

When the water was up we stayed a weekend about every 3 months at Thunderbird Resort. I really like Buchanen but haven't caught anything to mention from it except catfish and panfish.

Cooper because I live almost on it. Don't fish it that much except for catfish. Not a very good LMB lake, though I have caught a few out of it. I guess Fork would have to be my second....

Indigo Lake in my neighborhood... private 160 acre lake. Caught my PB 10.2 there two years ago during spawn. Can't even launch now due to low water level.
Have been going to Conroe but lately there are only a couple of ramps open. Sticking with Fayette and Raven for now.

I live on Dunlap and it's not moving at all. It's two foot low for dam repairs until the end of January and going to be dropped another two foot to mark stumps at the end of November. It may take three weeks to come back up to two foot low due to low flow. Perfect for yaks, I see them all the time.

Mtn creek lake is my home lake although its shallow but no other boats are ever on there, since i live in GP and only 3 blocks away thats where i fish. I also like ray hubbard. I hate JOKE POOL its so ran down and over fished by people with no respect for fishing rules!!!! I think people who live close to there know who i'm talkin about.

I would call lake austin my home lake... I'm about 15-20min from the ramp.
Use to fish fayette and bastrop a lot, but moved to a different part of town, and Lake austin is just a lot closer.... that and I want to catch my first DD.

I have a small one bedroom fishing camp at Toledo Bend and I have to say I love that lake. It is large with a diversity of habitats. It can be challenging to fish at times and easy to fish at others. I would definitely call Toledo Bend my home lake.
