60#+ first fish in my sig, but we didn't have a scale that would read over 50 caught in March 2010 on Tawokoni, then last Febuary caught a 63.26# out of Tawokoni, the second one in my signature, both caught on Huge shad heads!!!

We had a day last year that was amazing and I know some fish I caught were in the mid to high 50's. BUT, we didn't have a scale that day (actually we did but it got wet and didn't work)

So, my documented PB to date is 48lbs. thumb

Yes, Teri has me beat by almost 10lbs. violin

49 at Twok, same weekend as Damfisherman, 16 on Mother Hubbard. Buddy caught one last night on Mother Hubbard around 40, no scales, but pics and tape measure. I think we created another big kitty fisherman. He's ready to go again now but can't get out of the office yet.

All of these from Twok.

My friend Brad, 71 lbs, late Dec 2010 with Steve "Big Cat" Nelson of Trophy Catfish Adventures. 15 minute fight.

My dad, 48 lbs, Feb 19th 2011 with Tommy Blanscett of Trophy Catfish Adventures.

My mom, 44 lbs Feb 19th 2011 with Tommy.

I don't have one out of the single digits yet...

Here is a link to the video I made of my parents and ex g/f's big fish.

Most guys are using more or less this rig:

30lb mono on santee cooper rig, 8/0 circle hook w/ 50-60lb clear mono leader. Most guys are using 2-3oz's of weight...both egg and no roll. They are snelling their circles.

Also on this same rig, others use 50-80lb briaded line.

ABU 6500, I use a float rig, it keeps your bait at a controlled distance off the bottom and out of the mud, I don't like to drift fish because I use 30# line and you can't hardly break it, 30 lb Main line, 60 lb leader line for my hook, 20 lb line about 3'0 long for my weight with a slip float on it and a 2 oz no roll weight with the eyelet, I also use a barrel swivel instead of a 3-way, because a 3-way will cut or twist your line till it breaks

The 17.2 lb Yellow Catfish was caught while fishing with Clancy on Lake Buchanan 0n March 19, 2008.It was caught using live bait on a rod and reel. The fish put up a good fight for 7 or 8 minutes before it was pulled into the boat.
