Thanks crago jr, that is a good site to learn from but I'm still looking to se what most guys on the TFF use. What lb line and hook size when targeting the big cats. Thanks again Most guys are using more or less this rig: 30lb mono on santee cooper rig, 8/0 circle hook w/ 50-60lb clear mono leader. Most guys are using 2-3oz's of weight...both egg and no roll. They are snelling their circles. Also on this same rig, others use 50-80lb briaded line.

ABU 6500, I use a float rig, it keeps your bait at a controlled distance off the bottom and out of the mud, I don't like to drift fish because I use 30# line and you can't hardly break it, 30 lb Main line, 60 lb leader line for my hook, 20 lb line about 3'0 long for my weight with a slip float on it and a 2 oz no roll weight with the eyelet, I also use a barrel swivel instead of a 3-way, because a 3-way will cut or twist your line till it breaks

The 17.2 lb Yellow Catfish was caught while fishing with Clancy on Lake Buchanan 0n March 19, 2008.It was caught using live bait on a rod and reel. The fish put up a good fight for 7 or 8 minutes before it was pulled into the boat.
