Since we are doing this in Jan like a bunch of idjits I better start stocking up on space heaters for my tent, lol. And some waders!

I have 2 that I will bring. Burn ban will likely be in effect still.

I also have a little propane heater a the little propane cannisters are pretty cheap. I already have like 3 of them.

Mark has a space heater as well and a propane heater. We'll be good as long as we dont blow the circuit!

Im gonna let ya know now, if the burn ban is still there then I aint going. No way in hell I gonna go campin in the middle of winter without a campfire!

Yup, and after two tours in the middle east I can handle 125 in the shade but but freezing without a campfire... not my idea of a good time, lol.

I dont lke the cold either, but I am going either way.

LMAO, you just don't know carp dog, he is a bigger wuss when it comes to the cold than I am. If its anywhere near freezing outside he would rather take a leak on the porch and get in trouble than go the extra 15 feet to the yard, lol.

I'm with August. No fire, no fishing.

I'd rather rent a cabin and sit inside with my transmitter.

I've seen a few people in Emma doing just that, fishing while hiding in their RVs (staying warm) with the transmitter.

I've done the same, running the heater in my car. I think I was more into fishing back then. Now it's not fun, not my kind of fishing.

We can get carp dog some warm fancy britches like they wear at red bud.

With proper planning and electricty, you can be quite comfy with just a space heater.

Its alright. The less fishermen there are, the more fish I can catch! lol

After seeing the wildfires in and around Austin this year, I hope no one is seriously considering flouting a burn ban, even after 10pm. Emma is like a tinderbox right now and a fire from a stray, windblown ember or spark would take just a few minutes to engulf the park, possibly killing sleeping campers and destroying the park for many years to come.

Have a great time but please don't do anything to endanger lives or the park itself.

Mike and I are looking into getting our hands on an old school army canvas pavilion thing. Couple of space heaters and room for people to socialize and stay warm. We shall see.

That would work great! With all the heaters mixed in, that will be toasty!

I will rig up some ponchos, as well as have a pop-up deal like last time. If it is not windy, that will come in handy.

Burn Ban for Travs county will be lifted Dec. 14th..we will be able to have ground fires.
