the entry for the tournament is $160.00 per team. If you pay at the ramp its an extra $10.00. And the memberahip fee is $30.00. Cmon out, its gonna be a bluebird day.

Heard this evening on Channel 56 news, that they are currently dredging Lake Jacksonville's boat ramp and also restocking the lake with 2000-Sharelunker offspring. Since they are dredging the ramps will some of the remaining tournaments be held on Lake Jacksonville?

I say keep them at palestine. thats if you are able to get in this week like u talked about at weighin. Seems we had more teams at the the first tournament at palestine than any of the tourneys at tyler.

Fastlane,
We will follow the schedule and remain on Palestine as long as we have ramps to launch. Villages and Lake Palestine Resort are still useable.

Does anyone know about the ramp at the Palestine dam?

Thanks,

I'm not going to fish the Palestine tournaments. That lake is too low and you will do thousands of dollars worth of damage to a fiberglass boat out there.

^ Is this tournament still going to be at Palestine or moved to Lake Tyler, since the Palestine ramps are too shallow?

anglers quest championship was there a couple weeks ago and nobody I knew did damage to their boats. damage can be done to your boat at anytime at any lake just have to keep your eyes peeled and use your brain. I personaly can't wait for the palestine tourny.

Anglers,
We will make a decision by Monday after the predicted rain this weekend. We do our best to keep to the schedule we publish. Palestine is on the schedule and if we have ramps to launch from we will keep to the schedule. We had to move from Jacksonville in this division because we could not launch boats there.
Thanks,
BLT staff

Lake Tyler is easier on the boat even with low water levels. Lake Palestine is the Fiberglass repair man's best friend with the low levels. Not to mention there isn't a marked boat lane on the lake.

My point exactly. Palestine is even worse with low lake level and the fact it doesn't have one marked boat lane. And the winning fish are in the North end of the lake where you will do thousands of dollars worth of boat damage. Not worth it.

when was the last time yoou were on palestine? because me and quiet a few others find it easier to get through the stumps because you can see all of them. and why would you need a boatlane anyways the lake isn't hard to run.

You cant see them all that is nonesense. Any lake full of timber needs marked boat lanes. I don't know about quite a few others but it looks likes somebody else (ddantidwell & tibbar) on here agree's with me. My bother and I went to the Lake Palestine Resort ramp yesterday to check it out and it sux.

Im definitely out on lake palestine. I would be suprised if there were 3 teams show up to fish this one. Its just not worth the risk to win a couple hundred bucks.

As someone who has fished Palestine since 1968 and guided on the lake since 1974, there are alot of things down there that you cant see right now. I dont feel comfortable about running it. A lot of luck to those who try.

Anglers,
I talked with Larry at Lake Palestine Resort this morning. About 40 boats launched there two weeks ago for the Angler's Quest Championship and, with all the rain over this weekend, we should have no problems launching at several ramps on the lake if you prefer to go to another ramp.

Please understand that we do our best to stay with our posted schedule when possible.

Thanks,
BLT staff

looks like only 4 teams were there and only 3 weighed in. No one had a limit and only one team had 4. all the rest had one fish or two fish. thats a huge chance to take to only catch one or two fish!!!!

I wish I could have made the Palestine tournament, but I had family in town. I plan on making the next one. I understand that Palestine has underwater hazards, but I have had no problems running from the Villages to the damn. The south end is definently not the fish acquarium that the north end is, but it still holds a lot of quality fish. I hope to see more boats at the next one.

Exactly Stew......Palestine is no different than most lakes in East Texas, out of water. They all have underwater hazards than are showing there ugly heads.

Fast Lane,
The next one is scheduled on Lake Palestine on Jan 28th, 2012. It will be on the same day as the first tournament in our 2012 Palestine Division. The 2012 Palestine Division fishes on Palestine three times and Tyler twice. See the www.budlighttrail.com website for the complete 2012 spring schedules.

The anglers of the 2012 spring and 2011 Fall divisions will be combined in this one tournament. It was scheduled this way to allow our fall 2011 anglers to apply their last fall tournament entry fee toward the 2012 spring Palestine Division and so that we would have more participants in the tournaments for a better payout.

The weight rankings for the 2011 Fall Jacksonville Division will only show the preexisting Jacksonville angler weight rankings on the BLT website. However, all anglers who enter this Jan 28 tournament will be posted on the 2012 Palestine Division weight rankings. The Payout will be based on a 1 per 5 payout with both divisions combined.

Good luck,
BLT staff
