lake palestine is the fiberglass repair mans best friend at full pool. so is toledo, fork, rayburn, and livingston. My point exactly. Palestine is even worse with low lake level and the fact it doesn't have one marked boat lane. And the winning fish are in the North end of the lake where you will do thousands of dollars worth of boat damage. Not worth it.

You cant see them all that is nonesense. Any lake full of timber needs marked boat lanes. I don't know about quite a few others but it looks likes somebody else (ddantidwell & tibbar) on here agree's with me. My bother and I went to the Lake Palestine Resort ramp yesterday to check it out and it sux.

As someone who has fished Palestine since 1968 and guided on the lake since 1974, there are alot of things down there that you cant see right now. I dont feel comfortable about running it. A lot of luck to those who try.

A lot of luck to those who try. been running it a atleast once a week and haven't hit anything. there are definate idle only areas but those are there when the lake is full.

I wish I could have made the Palestine tournament, but I had family in town. I plan on making the next one. I understand that Palestine has underwater hazards, but I have had no problems running from the Villages to the damn. The south end is definently not the fish acquarium that the north end is, but it still holds a lot of quality fish. I hope to see more boats at the next one.

Exactly Stew......Palestine is no different than most lakes in East Texas, out of water. They all have underwater hazards than are showing there ugly heads.

Fast Lane, The next one is scheduled on Lake Palestine on Jan 28th, 2012. It will be on the same day as the first tournament in our 2012 Palestine Division. The 2012 Palestine Division fishes on Palestine three times and Tyler twice. See the www.budlighttrail.com website for the complete 2012 spring schedules. The anglers of the 2012 spring and 2011 Fall divisions will be combined in this one tournament. It was scheduled this way to allow our fall 2011 anglers to apply their last fall tournament entry fee toward the 2012 spring Palestine Division and so that we would have more participants in the tournaments for a better payout. The weight rankings for the 2011 Fall Jacksonville Division will only show the preexisting Jacksonville angler weight rankings on the BLT website. However, all anglers who enter this Jan 28 tournament will be posted on the 2012 Palestine Division weight rankings. The Payout will be based on a 1 per 5 payout with both divisions combined. Good luck, BLT staff
