That's a nice looking Warmouth!
I like your setup, did you just tie string to the end of the pole, or wrap it a bit along the length of the bamboo?
Looks like a lot of fun...!

Wrap it bit along with the length of bamboo . But first i cleaned the bamboo real good and leave around 10-14ft long loose line from tip .
I think i will get out there and grab some more bamboo's and rig them for future . I had bass on hook for a while which gave pretty good run then got away since bamboo fishing needs bit of work.

You just cut that right? So it's still very fresh and bends very well, yes? I've got a mini forest of bamboo (or what I think is bamboo'ish) stuff growing in my back yard. I see it all over San Antonio, and you cannot kill it. I know, I tried when I bought the house. I have a few stalks that are over 20' tall now. But we better stay on topic. So here are some tags. Bluegill, gills, Rios, perch, etc.

Man TuN3R...That is AWESOME!!!The rod seems to work GREAT!!! Those are some nice warmouths for sure!!!
I can't wait to try my new rod out. When you said you cleaned it...how? Just soap and water, a light sanding to get the waxy layer off the surface?
I thought I knew how to fish a simple cane pole, but I'm learning a lot from this! There's a lot more to it than I thought. However, TuN3R really knows how to do it old school style. When it comes to this VERY old tried and true method of fishing...it don't get any better than this!!

haha i don't mind going offtopic It helps us all to learn new things from each other. Cut it yes depends what size and type bamboo you want to use . Bends real good that's fun cause good fish will give good fight and it takes a while to land them on bank . You can't kill it the more you cut them the more will show up after couples of week .There are various things you can do with bamboos but let's not go on other side.

When it comes to this VERY old tried and true method of fishing...it don't get any better than this!! Take a knife shave the thin layer off . It's pure fun there were too many kids throwing rocks and woods over water which made it worst all fishes were moving too fast but ye atleast hooked a bass for a while before it got away .

Well I cut a few stalks down and are letting them dry in the garage. A few that a 'tried' to cut down last year and were still about 5 to 6 feet long were wedged against the fence - and they are really nice and stiff.
The only thing I see is that bamboo appears to be prone to cracking a bit.
Good thing it's free!

Why do you need to dry it ? Use it all fresh and green and over top of that use green colour line to rig it . Makes super invisible.

The taping of the line to the pole, 10-14 ft. line!?!?!? I was thinking like 5 ft of line.
That is why I'm learning. I have a lot of questions...like why did you tape the line down the pole? You told me you can cast a far distance with them...no weight no bobber...can I use a fly?? What did you make the handle with?
I am so excited about this. I guess I will have to wait till this Sat. Then you can show me all the ropes in detail. I can't wait to try this.
And the bamboo, yes it grows everywhere around Texas. It's invasive for sure. The stuff grows like weeds!! I bet there is some within a mile of many peoples houses and they never knew it...or in thier own backyards, such as in dr's case...LOL!!!
But I can see you could easily cut small skinny ones for small gills, or if your pushing baits into heavy brush or cattails, for big fish, cut you a heavier one. But the coolest thing...it's all FREE!!! So experiment away with the "pole" that seems to work best for you.
