I have the boat and trailer on a single policy, and got in an accident that involving both, why am I being charged two separate deductibles?

Sounds like a question for your Agent.

interesting... I thought the boat/trailer/motor were one unit- all for one, and one for all... I was told if my boat was totalled, they would have to take the trailer as well.. state farm.
please let us know once you figure it out, so I can ask my agent. thanks!

Ronnie,

That is my understanding as well prior to this little accident. I am being told something completely different right now from my claims agent, and to be honost I am not really happy at the moment about it.

Well I am definatly not happy with it, as it looks like I will be out of pocket quite a bit more than just the second decutable.

After speaking with a couple of different people in claims and repair shops, it looks like I am being raked over the coals by Foremost Insurance.

I have yet to get a straight answer from them besides thats the way it is, when I ask how I can have two deductables on a single policy with a single claim.

They even managed to get the estimate amount wrong from the shop so they shorted me $200 on the check.

I called them out on that, and of course he "appogized" for his mathmatical error! Need less to say now I have to drive the 60 miles again to have the bank sign it over to me so I can deposit.

you guys always ask "WHY" i push state farm.. this is exactly why. you deal with one company and they get it right. I am sorry to hear about this Chris. one deductible is all you should have had. when it's done, call Karen. she will even help you as much as she can if you were to call her now. she could only give advice, though. I would be livid! these boats are our babies!
