Lucky Strike Bass Club is hosting a benefit tournament on Belton Lake, 17 December 2011, For the family and in memory of one our own Zach Wright.
Location: Temple Lake Park, Belton Lake (Pavilion)
Entry Fee: $70.00 per team
Launch: Temple Lake Park, safe light
Weigh in: Temple Lake Park, 3:00pm
Registration start/end time: 0500-0700

1st Place guaranteed $1000 (subject to increase as sponsors come on board)
2nd Place guaranteed $500
Big Bass guaranteed $500
Biggest Smallmouth $250 (sponsored by Bob Babcock, Veterans Real Estate)

Once again, this will get better as time draws near.

Official Tournament Rules:
1. All State, Federal, and Local laws must be obeyed, or contestants will be disqualified.
2. At least one contestant from each team must check in by 3:00 pm. Any checked in team not in the weigh-in line at 3:15 will not be allowed to weigh-in. Scales will close at 3:20pm
3. Official time will be synchronized with GPS time verified by the tournament director.
4. Each contestant is required to wear a Coast Guard approved life preserver any time the boat is on plane. If equipped, the kill switch must operate properly and must be attached to the boat operator anytime the boat is on plane.
5. Only artificial lures may be used with the exception of pork rinds. Only one rod may be used at a time, each cast must be completed before another is made. Trolling with the main engine is not allowed.
6. All protests must be made in writing within 15 minutes after the scales close. All contestants are subject to a polygraph test. Failure to submit and/or clear test will result in disqualification.
7. Contestants will abstain from consuming alcoholic beverages until after scales close, and polygraph tests are complete.
8. All bass weighed in become the property of the Lucky Strike Bass Club for the purpose of live release. Contestants must fish from a boat with an adequate live-well system. No iced or pale-gilled fish will be weighed. All bass brought to the weigh-in must be in a weigh bag with water. .
9. A team will consist of a maximum two contestants fishing from the same boat. A team may consist of one contestant paying the full entry.
10. Each team may weigh in only five fish, minimum length of 14 inches, measured on a flat board, mouth closed, and tail compressed. All State and Federal regulations will be enforced. Teams presenting a short fish at weigh-in will be disqualified. Only Largemouth, Smallmouth, Guadalupe, and Spotted bass can be weighed. Dead fish will be penalized 1/4 pound (4 oz) per dead fish. The penalty will apply to total weight as well as the big bass if applicable. Culling of your 5 fish limit must be done immediately after landing the 6th keeper.
11. In the case of a tie the money for the two places will be pooled and split between the teams.
12. Decisions of the tournament officials are final. Any contestant that violates tournament rules will be disqualified.

For people who didn't know Zach he's the father of Braden Wright.Braden's the little guy who drives a triton boat with me (his grandfather).Braden fishes Bass Champs,Media Bass,Tuffman and is an active member of Lucky strike Bass Club.Braden has been fishing since he was 4yrs old.The death of his father was sudden. We look forward seeing all our freinds and new freinds at this tournament.I've gotten the bar-b-q lined up and hoping to get more things to give away.Zach also has a daughter thats 8yrs old and she is going to join Lucky Steike this year.

Just like any other tournament. Check in time is at 3:00p.m. A minute after would be considered late.However, if you check in at 3:00, then you have until 3:15 for you or your partner to be in line. Thats what I thought .just making sure I got DQed last weekend on belton for not being in line with fish before 3:00....wish they would have told us.....i think we might have won big bass.........GUESS I NEED A FASTER SKEETER....

If we have a large turn out we may consider flights and weigh in times for safety purposes. There will be a controlled launch (number draw at morning check in), and this will be determined again by boat entries. Hope this helps.

how many teams so far?? i know myself wont sign up until saturday morning. just kinda wanted an idea of how many boats.

We anticipate 60+ boats. Our opens usually average 35-40 boats, with this being guaranteed payouts I am sure more will show up at the ramp. It is for a great cause and any support given is greatly appreciated. Come on out, fish, food, fellowship!

Super great day! Tough fishing for most but a few managed to find good fish, thats typical Belton this time of year. We had 51 boats and raised over $4000 in entries and raffles. Once again, thank you for the support.
