Any advice on what to look for in buying a crankbait rod, and which brand would be best to buy?

What's your budget? For under $100 you can look into a 7ft med falcon original. That is what I use for my cranks and love it.

Crankin' rods depend on several factors that don't seem to be present at this time. Let me ask a few qusstions to help me help you.

Obviously, the first one is your budget.
2. All purpose CB rod or deep/shallow/medium/traps????
3. What kind of reel are you going to put with it?
4. How accomplished of a CBer are you?
5. Open water or targeting structure/cover or ????
6. How long is your current set up?
7. How tall are you? What kind of rods/reels/combos do you use now for CBs.

These are just a few questions that need some answers before I recommend a rod. Of course, I also offer a guarantee that the rod I recommned will do the job I say it will, or I buy it from you at your costs.

PM me if you want to get into specifics.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Totally agree with Thad and his questions. At 6'5 260 if you are 6'0, that totally changes everything. Similar to golf club fitting.
I hear so many people complain about the Shimano Castaic being to large. However, for my hand size its perfect and I find my revos being a bit small.

The single piece of advice I can give you is buy the longest rod you can comfortably fish. Hint, this has nothing to do with how tall you are.

I was actually basing it on lipless crank bottom bouncing
