I didn't realize how much time it takes to do something like this...
Youtube only lets me upload about 14 minutes of finished video at a time. This video goes over deep water identification and sandbass vs. catfish.
Part 2 will deal more w/ sidescan and shallow water.

nice video, i have a HB 581I combo black and white though. I have only had it a few weeks, but my arches are not nearly defined as yours. I can spot bait fish but still needs more piddling with im sure. i like the fish symbols but was told not to use it becouse it is worthless. any sugestions. thanks for the video.

Rick, to get clear arches change your settings from either narrow or medium to WIDE (on your sonar beam) This will take care of the problem.
You don't need a sidescan for locating the larger fish in deep water. Truth is, after November, I rarely use my side imaging unless im hunting for shad.

Also, remember, the fish that are at the edge of the sonar beam will not give u defined arch...only the fish that are within 70% of the beam.

Except on Joe Pool of course.
Thank you for the video, its going to help alot. Now a question, is there a way to place the temp and depth window that is on the left side of an 898 to the bottom like your 1198?
Thanks Michael, you are the only one bubba that will show anybody anything like that, we really appreciate it Amigo, never thought about setting sincitivity with a jig, I thought I was doing good if I could see the anchor or the cast net,
once again, Thanks Amigo!!!
