Well we were mainly going for bull reds but they were escaping our grasp. Brought in a 5.5 ft shark during a double hook up, and was waiting for my friend to bring in a Jack when they got tangled up and broke my line. All and all a great trip for my first time in Matagorda Bay.

A big shout out to Tony H. for his report that got me to go to the Pass in the first place.

Enjoy the pics,
Travis

Looks like ya'll had fun - glad I got ya pointed in the right direction - most times the reds in the pass will average a little bigger than the ones at the jetties - usually there are tarpon around as well --

Largest Bull was 44 inches and a great fight. I personally have not caught a tarpon so I was looking forward to bringing one in, but a Texas T will have to wait until next trip.

Tight Lines,
Travis

Where were you fishing? By the big jetties? What bait? Nice boat!

We were fishing the pass, and virtually by ourselves. Bait was live mullet in about 15 fow.

Left the hook with about 4 inches of leader.

Tight Lines,

nice fish,I caught all the above plus had seven tarpon hookups and landed two back in september. POC is a good place to catch quality and numbers.
