You better save some of your money for gas. I love mine but it is a gas HAWG. Only get 11 mpg pulling my boat. If Toyota doesn't improve on gas mileage my next truck will be a Ford with Ecoboost.

Along with my G3 CC, I use mine to pull my TT, 8K, 1K on the hitch. I lock out 6th gear and it pulls all day 60-62, 2K RPM and around 11MPG. For a 1/2 ton truck, it's a horse. You can't go wrong with it.

Just curiouse, will it down shift on hills with the TT if you set the cruise? Yes, it does. I do not use cruise when I'm towing and don't know anyone who recommends it in hilly terrain. I prefer the control I have with the accelerator. I would rather get to the top of the hill a little slower than having it roar up the grade at 4000 RPM. I also do not use the tow/haul feature, All it does is change the shift points so that the trannie stays in each gear a little longer. Mine revs high enough between shifts without help.

I put the leveling kit on to increase tire size, and yes, it's more asthetically pleasing. You better save some of your money for gas. I love mine but it is a gas HAWG. Shoot I wish I got 11 towing my boats with my Tundra, 9 is a far more constant denominator for me! 16.3 is the best I have ever gotten on an all highway road trip with no trailer. I dont know why there is such a difference but my 07 Tundra got way better fuel mileage than this 2010, I used to pull a 27' travel trailer that weighed like 8,000 lbs and get almost 10 mpg with my 07, I cant imagine what I'd get towing that thing with this 2010, I bet I'd average like 6 mpg.

I'm pulling an 8K lb travel trailer with my 5.7L Tundra. it cruises at 2000 RPM with 6th gear locked out and gets 11MPG. I can't ask any more from this truck. That said, I didn't buy it looking for gas mileage. I bought it to pull a heavy trailer without having to go to a diesel.

Thanks guys, I love it so far! Leveling kit in the mail, then wheels/tires. Work is 8 miles away, and the furthest ramp at the local 'lakes' is about 5 miles away...so I'm not worried about milage for now. I'll be making a few pulls to Ivie and hopefully Fork someday. You live in San Angelo and you want to go to Fork? Your going in the wrong direction , you need to head south...Amistad or Falcon!

The Eco-boost from Ford is a dual turbo charged motor. I think I'll wait until my Toy wears out. 07 gets 12mpg pulling ranger.

FYI TO ALL. The Ecoboost IS NOT a first year production model. 1st year in a truck yes but it's not an infant. Many people are misinformed on this and all the other manufacturers try their hardest to push this false info just to make a sale to those who will bite. PS I've towed over 5,000 with my ecoboost twice now for 480 miles and have averaged 15.7 (hand calculated)mpg. AND it NEVER downshifted on the hills I had to navigate....didn't even flinch while maintaining 60mph. Cruising MPG 22 mpg. SCHWING

All I hear is how the Tundras are getting bad gas milage. I have a 2011 with 3000 miles on it and it is getting 16.5 towing my Ranger Z-21. This is hand calulated and I stay right at 65 -70 mph. Pleanty of power and I love it. I still have my 2005 Dodge diesel and it pulls almost as good as the Dodge with almost no difference.

I'm curious why so many people are so quick to tell others how they should spend their money and what they don't agree with it? I'm quite sure you do PLENTY I don't agree with just by your attitude towards another man's free will but unlike you, I wouldn't bother telling you about it because it's your business and not mine. OP, great looking Toyota man. I was hung between a Toyota and a Dodge but I broke down and went with the Dodge just because I was able to find the exact options I wanted really close to home. Pretty sure I'd have been thrilled with either of them as they both make impressive power for stock trucks.

But kind of like you, everything lined up at the right time, test drove it a few times and loved it. All options were what I wanted..engine, cab, price, color, etc.

I loved my 2008 so much I bought another. One to work out of and one as our date, and fishing truck. Gas mileage is'nt good but I don't care. I wanna burn as much as I can before Barry takes it from us!
