Contact Robert at crazyanglertackle.com I started with a bobbin and $15.00 vice from cabelas. CAT has chenilles, threads, hackle etc cheaper than the chain stores...
Also Mr. Jerry Hamon puts on a class at Cabelas in Allen occasionally, I would suggest you attend a class or two to see if tying is something you want todo. Peruse the jigging section for the thread..
I have purchased most of my stuff from Robert at Crazy Angler. I'm still using my cheap vise. He is a great guy to deal with and he knows his stuff. You tube has a bunch of good learning videos..Lots of good tyers here that will help you along as well!!! There are several other places around as well. Barlows is probably close to where you live...

Give ol Crazy a call he will fix you up right tell him you want a starter kit and he will put one together for you that will be better than anything you find at a big retail shop. Robert is a good fella that like to help folks get started can't go wrong dealing with Crazy Angler. Good luck
