Years ago I used to crappie fish at Dalrock and at Harbor Bay Marina. The owner used to brush-out these areas and they used to produce some good crappie. If anyone have info or comments on these areas I would like to hear it. Thanks

Bassfishindude I stopped by Harbor Bay last Thursday and spoke with the manager there. He mentioned that a guy caught 15 keepers at his slip on one of the docks and another guy caught his limit. A lady at the barge had 4 keepers. I live ten minutes from there and use to fish it a lot but after they didn't brush the slips last year I went to Tawakoni, Lewisville and Lavon. Maybe somone else can chime in about what has been going on over there.

I started crappie fishing at Harbor Bay Marina more than 15 years ago. Even had a boat slip on H Dock known to the regulars as "Prime Time 21". We had that slip brushed out and had lots submerged structure in it.

I was just curious about fishing out there. Didn't know if they still brushed it out. At one time they stopped adding brush. Anyways, I'm looking forward to going out there sometime this fall.

H dock was where the 15 were caught. I may go by there tomorrow and if I fish I will let you know how I did. Alot of exposed old brush sticking up since the water is low around the barge. Probably around the slips.

I have been fishing Harbor Bay since 1986 when it was called Rockwall Marina and the fishing was great when Mack brushed it out.He passed away a few years ago and it hasn't been the same.I had a slip on H dock also and we caught alot of fish before they moved the dock but now it's hit or miss.Curt

I packed up from my lease last year after they stopped brushing it out and cut all of my trees from "A" dock. I had well over 75 trees that thruout the previous 3 years I had brushed out and had them tied with light twine to the bottom piece of metal on the dock...it was out of site and out of mind or so I thought.

Anyways when management cut them and didn't brush out then the fishing went south for "A" dock and I wasn't catching [censored]...so I figured why pay $128 a month for it and moved out.

The manager told me that they couldn't brush out the dock anymore because Parks and Wildlife told them that it was illegal to place any trees in the lake.

I call BS on that.

The 2 years I was on H Dock we put out all our brush at night so management as well as other fishermen wouldn't notice.

The thing that was funny was most people wouldn't brush out their own slips but would sure want to fish yours. There were a bunch of people with attitudes.

During my second year there a shotgun was pulled because one individual didn't want anyone fishing his stall. But he would sure fish yours. It wasn't fun anymore and I had to move on!

"H" dock was like that...and I was told that by management before I ever signed a lease. He told me that it was very territorial...I noticed alot of people with serious attitudes when I would just walk over there to chit chat with some aquaintances.

I would stay far away from "H" dock if you ever plan to lease a slip.

Not planning on signing any more leases and that's for certain.

With lake levels being down just wondering if the fishing is improving.

I saw a guy get pushed in the water on H dock back in 1994.I had no problem with people fishing my slip.I even would ask have they been biting in my slip but alot of people hated the fact that someone was catching fish in there slip while they were not there. They would padlock their slips so no one would fish it.It's just fishing damn.

Saw a guy over at bay view install chain link fence to cover his slip so no one could fish it when he wasn't there. That guy has issues IMHO.

WoW that's crazy.

I didn't care if anyone fished my slip as long as I was not there activly fishing it myself.

I had a guy come over one day and drop a minnow less than one foot from where I had a jig in the water.

That was stupid...but the same guy and his family would steal from peoples boats/dock boxes and put the stuff in their boats in plain view.

Kinda douchie.

During my time on H Dock, I met a lot of nice guys and we would fish each others stalls without any issues. When the crappie were biting everybody was catching them. It didn't matter which stall was being fished, the fish were just everywhere.
