A while back I had bought some berkley trilene big game super strong solar collector fishing line., It is a freaky green color and has A cool glow to it when the sun hits it. I had spooled some on, went fishing and couldnt buy a bite. I deducted that it must be the line,.. this freaky alien string must be shooting a uv beam down to the crappie and blinding him like a star trek phaser . so I posted my results on here, and Ernest Paty advised that the line probably was NOT the problem. Well after having the spool of line sit atop my desk for almost a year, I decided to spool some onto a reel I had recently aquired. This time I went fishing, I caught fish like I did with any other line Ive ever used. so my point here is, listen to the old timers if they try to help, they have been there, and know whats up. It is human nature to try and find an excuse why we are not being successful, instead of trying to find success sometimes.

Ever since I learned the old trick of using a brazing rod with a hook on it I realized that all that "line shy" stuff was as full of bull as I am. I use bright orange Suffix braid and have good results.
cheers

I love Ernest's videos. But I still haven't been able to get on the crappie much. I hope it will be easier to find them now that it is cooling off?

Best thing I've learned in tournaments is when your not gettin the fish you need move and or change methods quickly. Don't waste time in one spot doing the same thing for over 20 min at the most.

I don't think Ernest looks a day over 800.

He's looking better than me lately.

Yes Sir, no need to break trail when the Old Timers have already done that for us. Too bad more young folks don't see the wisdom in that.

Good point but as old as I am and as new as I am, I' ve learned from younger more experienced crappie fishermen too. The youngest that comes to mind is Kid Krappie Anthony.

I think the key word is EXPERIENCE. Experience counts.

Never blame your equipment after a bad day fishing.
