they have late summer controlled burns every year, they have fire-lanes cut & pretty much know what they're doing, never seen one get outta control (I live 3 miles the entrance)

An early-morning fire at Daingerfield State Park Sunday caused no evacuations, and no structures were damaged. Approximately 10 acres burned in a remote area, about 300 yards south of the lake dam, according to Park Superintendent John Thomas. The fire didn’t impact any structures, and was not in any danger of causing any damage to structures.
