First off, I want to thank Fisherwood for putting this together and Tres Flores Baits for sponsoring our event. I have to say this was a blast. I brought my buddy Minh to this fish-in as a new carper. We got to the swim about 8:00 and I got started with the marker float and the spod, spodding out about 20 spods of all stock and maize mix while Minh rigged up. He got to fishing and caught a grass carp before I had rods in the water. The action for him was steady all day, and he went up 3 carp to one or two(Brian) and none (me and Ted).
Then my first rod went off and I reeled in my first ever mirror (can you believe it?). My goal for this winter was to catch a mirror and on my first trip back from the salt I've been fishing in all summer, and my first fish, and it was my goal. Awesome! For this I was the winner of some Tres Flores Maize, Banana Flavor.

Action stayed pretty steady for Minh and Brian with Ted and I staying in the back of the pack. Towards the end of our day (about 2:00pm), things started catching on fire. My one run all day turned into 7 more in that last hour, including a triple run where I landed a fish, hook pulled a fish, and Jason landed a fish for me.

I also was able to end my day one rod at a time with three runs one after the other over the course of about 15 minutes. I reeled in two commons and a hook pull - wish my sessions would always end that way!
I ended up with 4 commons and lost 4 more. Found out I need to quit horsing my fish in. I think I lost the 4 from horsing them around (too much salt water fishing this summer I guess).
Minh caught 5 commons and a grasser. Ted was starting to get into the action and had two or three and Brian was up to three or four commons as well, maybe more?
