The morning started early for me; I got to the venue at about 6:30 to throw out a bunch (4 gallons) of range cubes to help get the swims moving. It was still dark at that point, and Orion was shining brightly along with Sirius in Canus Major.
As I was moving along to the swims, using my baiting spoon to heave out the big pellets, a saw something slowly moving out from the shore a little ways down the lake...an alligator! It's head was about a foot long so it wasn't a baby!

Range cubes out, I decided to wait a bit until it got lighter before setting up my gear, so I went back to the car and grabbed a few winks.
Around 7 I made the two trips from the car, carrying my gear for the day. I seleted an end swim away from the kayak launch that I had caught some fish from before, and started setting up. After I had on rod out, Ted showed up and started setting up in the swim next to mine. About a half hour after Ted, Nick showed up with his friend Minh, who hadn't carp-fished before. They set up next to the kayak launch, so we had four swims there in about 80 feet of shore; a bit cozy, but not too bad.
Minh got on the board first with his 10 lb grasser. Long and thin! I soon got a run with my first fish, which turned out to be the biggest of the day at 12.5 lbs. I didn't get a picture of it, thinking we'd get something bigger!
Everyone was catching in the morning except for Ted! But around noon (I think!) he got on the board with another 10lb common.
Most of the fish were around the 10lb mark, with a couple smaller and a couple larger.
Jason showed up around 2, after attending a recital for some of his guitar students, and was soon helping to land some fish.
Next time I'll take more pics, but here are a few that I took.

Me with a 10.8:

I'm planning another one, probably on the Sunday Dec 4, at another location in Houston.
Thanks for coming, guys, and thanks to Eddie Flores for the two pounds of boiles and two pounds of flavor maize as prize!
Also, thanks to Justin (theCarpenter) for pre-baiting the night before!
