I like to use some cream in the liquid when making my grits to make them smooth and rich. Add a little butter salt and pepper too.

Put a good scoop of that down and then layer some chopped green onion, saute red bell pepper for color and parsley with some boiled or butter sauted shrimp and top with a little red eye gravy.

Shrimp and grits are good. My daughter brought me some stone ground grits in a cloth bag from Georgia some time ago with a recipe. I cooked them with the stone ground grits, added some cheese, garlic, and probably some of the other ingredients mentioned above. They were excellent but the stone ground grits made them even better.

Here is my Grits recipe.... I cook the shrimp seperately and add
after the grits are cooked.

1 1/2 cups grits quackers Original 5 minute grits
6 cups water
4 tsp salt
1 lb velveeta cheese cubed
1 stick margarine or butter
3 eggs beaten
2 tsp lowrey's season salt

boil water w salt, add grits, cook six min, add margarine, cheese, eggs, season salt....you will need special instructions on adding the eggs....mix well....pour into greased pan, bake 350 for 45 min to hr....you can test with a knife for doneness....

i like to put a bowl of grits in the fridge to firm up, then grab some and make patties, throw them in a hot pan with some butter and fry them, then top with some sauce/pico de gallo and top with shrimp. good stuff.
