ok so my brother was talking to a diver who dove the dam, and swears there are cats 5ft in length and up just stacked up on one another on the base...and my brother asked if there are so many how come they never bring one up....the diver said, it is due to being fifty feet or more down under water if you grab a cat and he rips your airline out and towes you around you'll die, but the mystery is if there are so many huge cats there why have none of us seen or caught one?

can you really SEE that well at the bottom of the dam?
I've heard the "big as a volkswagon" story, but always wonder, why isnt the catfish seen by the diver "as big as a Fiat" or "as big as a Subaru"?
why is it always a Volkswagon?

OK, here we go. The deepest water on Lake Worth is 24' in one corner of the dam, you couldn't see 2" inch front of you, even though the catfish glow in the dark, and I think that your brother or that diver has been breathing some funny air .

I hung one out there like that one time by the rocks in 55 ft of water while drifting a channel nearby with stink bait soaked in dead red. But wouldn't you know that right when I got him up to the top of the water (which took nearly an hour), Santa Claus came hovering over from behind the dam in an old vietnam chopper. Then he slowly lowered the easter bunny down from a cable and harness and snatched my fish up with a pair of catfish grippers. I just wouldn't have believed there were fish in there anywhere near that big unless I saw it myself.

Oh wait, you were talking about Worth. No way that happened out there, the water is much too shallow. This was at Lewisville

well i never said worth was fifty feet at any place, the diver used that as an example. and i've seen several cats come from worth that are the same length as a tailgat on a pickup, and heard of one caught in a bass tournament that broke 50* spring scales...and i've seen 30' of water on the lake myself.

24 is the deepest on lake worth. Every lake in this country has that same story. Been hearing it for 50 years. I have some mountain property in Flordia I need to sell cheap. Johnny
