Does anybody have and fish a Core 100? I'm angling(pun intended) for a new reel for Christmas this year and that's a reel I'd sure like to have, hence my question.

Opinions welcomed.

Them Cores sure are sweet. I've been priveleged to handle some and they are definately nice reels. Not really a reel in their price range to compare them to but they are super smooth and light as a feather.

What's funny is that nobody around here, BPS or Academy has any to check out. Sure not going to buy anything at that price point unless I can seriously fondle it...:)

Check out TackleWarehouses demo program. The first time they charge you, but refund the money when they recieve the reel back.

I have two core 100's that I love.
most of the time set 1 brake on and adjust tension, thats it
it will cast a mile, and it's good with light & heavy bait's
it is not as smooth as my Steez or Calais, but it a joy to fish all day with, and it feel's great in my palm
you will love it

Daiwa Steeze is lighter and better balanced than the Core. You wanna pick them up and see which fits best. The Steeze is better for smaller hands, but I think Diawa makes a larger cap spool model with a slightly bigger handle. You're right to pick 'em up,before, you buy.hope this helps.

I have several of the Core reels. Work great, feel great. In my opinion, you can't go wrong by getting one.

I finally had a chance to cast the core a few times. OMG! It is a dream! You definitely get what you pay for. Smooth as butter.

Have several of the Cores and they work great. Cast great, runs smooth and has plenty of power to drag big ones out of the brush.
