Slice potato's as thinly as possible. I leave the skin on. Spray a microwaveable plate with Vegetable spray. Place slices on plate and add a little salt, and spray lightly. Place in microwave and cook on high for 5-6 minutes. When chips turn slight brown take out and cool. You can put any seasoning on them you want. Makes great snacks for the kids

Trying them now. Even put the slices on a microwave browning plate. At 6 minutes had warm taters. At 10 minutes had soggy warm taters. At 14 minutes had soggy raw potato slices.
Conclusion: Potato slices do not brown in a microwave no matter how long you leave them.
I think the post may be mistaking the toaster oven for a microwave.

Make sure you are using 100% power. 5 1/2 minutes to 6 minutes works on my microwave.

They have to be sliced VERY thin. Use a mandolin if you have one.

Talk about bringing up an old post. To update a bit my microwave is the el cheapo $39.99 from Wally World and i guess does not have the power to do chips. I can run the tater thru a hand slicer and deep fry them just as easily.
