I am considering new places such as large ponds and LBJ Grasslands. So if anybody knows of any places we can get 10+ boats on the water without disturbing the regular crowd and each other in the tournament please post. (must be in the dfw area)

This sounds like fun to me.

Where are the rules listed?

Sounds like fun.

Loy Lake and Waterloo are both good (Denison).
Coffee Mill and Crockett also.

30+ acre lakes that get little or no pressure.
Loy and Waterloo are no gas powered engines allowed.

All have great fish.

Is it boats smaller than 14 foot, or up to 14 foot?

I have a 14 foot Alumacraft is why I'm asking.

I also have 8 foot inflatable pontoons so I assume they are legal. hmmm

I don't know what to say about this guy. He came on here and wanted to get some guys to fish together and even started a web site for it but then he dissappeared. I have sent him some emails but nothing has came out of it.

Here is his link again.

I am still here. I am not on here daily but I am still here guys.

The first tournament will be held at the Joe Pool location. The rest are subject to change. This is where we can meet and greet and I will be able to get more information on the other places we can fish.

From there I will see how interested people really are in this.
I am receiving a lot of feedback from people wanting to join but actions speak louder than words.

Depending on the turnout of the Joe Pool tournament I will decide weather or not if I should go forward and add more fishing locations.

I have roughly $300 tied up in equipment right now so I am serious about starting this. Right now I picked the big lakes because I know there is plenty of room there for us & you do not have to have permission to have a tournament on a public lake.

14 ft and under boats are allowed. electric motors are allowed and 5hp gas motors and under are allowed.

(I am new to tournament fishing so I am winging it until we have the first tournament and learn how this should go)

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

I will have styrofoam coolers lined up filled with water, ice & an aerator with a laundry basket submerged so you can put your fish in there until it is your weigh-in time.

Like I said I am new to tournament fishing so I am winging it until we have the first tournament and learn how this should go, i'm sure it will run smoothly.

Count me in for this, 12' jon boat with a 5hp motor.

Also I'm game to go fishing with any of you guys sometime before then. I just got this setup and I've never had a boat before, so I'm still getting the logistics down and figuring out how to use this thing. I normally go out to Grapevine, and I'll probably be there this coming Sunday 9/4 and Monday 9/5.

Question. How do we keep the fish untill the weigh in? Most of these boats do not have livewells, including mine. So that leaves a stringer or a basket? Both of which would likely result in dead or very near dead bass. What if this was done like the yak guys do? A picture with a tape measure and a secret code word on a slip of paper in the photo to prove the date. Total length wins, no dead bass less stress on tourney directors. Come to think of it, I dont catch many fish anyways so that would not be a real concern. Thoughts on this guys?

That is a great idea! As long as everybody has a camera or phone this will work perfectly.

I could have everybody send pictures to a certain email. I will tally up the results. Post results to the website.

The only problem I see right now is how would I pay the winner right then? I could hold on to the money and mail it or send via Pay Pal.

How do you guys feel about this who will be competing in the event? Any suggestions?

I'm sorry. I thought you meant while waiting to have your fished weighed in.

The Catfish peeps do about the same.
One person chooses a control item at check in, and any picture needs to have the control item in it. Photographed are weight with the control item.
That way fish get to live another day.

You don't have to have the pictures emailed to you. Have somebody with a lap top at "weigh in" and everybody has to bring a usb cord with their camera if they want their fish to count. Download and tally results on the spot.

I would like to do the Joe Pool tourny but my son and daughter have a nine oclock baseball game. I might come out and see the weigh in and get to meet some of yall for the next one.
