I am a Farmers agent. I know both companies very well. Stick with your local State Farm agent. State Farm is a very good company that does what they say they are going to do. You will also have a local agent that you can turn to for help or advice. I also like the "one throat to choke" position you get by having all of your stuff with one agent or company. Go back to your local agent and tell him/her that you want agreed value on the boat, replacement cost on personal property, at least 300K in liability (most tournaments require this), adequate trailer coverage (most of the time, this is separate coverage and separate deductible), 100K in uninsured boaters, and do the comparison. Just remember - nobody ever picked up the phone to make a claim and said "I sure wish I got less coverage so I could save $10 a month."
