For some reason when I fish a worm my line gets so twisted it wraps around the rod tip, if I get some slack in the line. I peg my weight alot and thought that might be doing it, tried not pegging still got bad twist. Worm is on straight, hook and line are sraight, line was put on reel the right way. Ive been fishing for over 25yrs. and still can't figure out the problem. I use Trilene green 15 to 17lb test, on a 5500 Garcia. Some nights I have to retire a rod because the line is so twisted I can't fish and have to use another rod. I know to drag it behind the boat to straighten it out, I can't figure out why it happens.

Obviously, it is a combination that you are not in fact putting the line on correctly, and the x factor. I will show you next time the secret to line with no twists.
