I hate to do this, but I have to sell my boat due to a family emergency. I have a 1977 17' Glastron. It has a 1976 150HP Merc outboard. This boat and I just could not ever get along. I just can never start the darn thing. I don't know much about boats and chokes. I don't know.... I bought a boat a few years ago.
The background - The 1st month I bought it, I spent $1500.00 getting it lake ready. I took it to a mechanic off of beach street in FT.W. Then got it out to the lake, and it wouldn't start. Dead in the water. Then I took it BACK to him, and he moved some wires around, and said he fixed it. So, Got the family out, and ready to go out, got it in the water, and same thing. So..., i took it to a great mechanic with good prices over off of Jacksboro HWY. Most of you in FT. Worth know who I'm talking about. I was on a waiting list for two months. He looked at it and said he just made a few adjustments, and cleaned the engine up. He started it right in front of me. He said for the year of the motor, it is in really good shape, and a strong motor. He said I should be happy with my boat. OK, well I was learned my lesson, and got outboard "muffs" you hook to a hose so you can run your boat out of water. It started at home.
So, the next weekend, took it out to the lake, and same thing. I couldn't start it. I don't know, I just can't start things with chokes! So, I brought it back home to sit. It sat for a month until we moved. When we moved, I started it out of water a bunch of times to make sure it was still running (With the motor-muffs) before I put it in the side yard. I started it every few weeks to let it run. Well, it sat for the winter and i went to start it a month ago and it would not start. I'm done with it. Maybe one of you guys that knows about chokes and starting these kind of boat would have better luck, or know someone who can look at it for cheap. Maybe the carb needs to be cleaned or something, but it's not firing up. As of right now it wont start, and I don't know why. I spent so much money to get the thing running and I can never start it. I have all the receipts to prove what I spent. I have the titles to the boat, motor, and the trailer. I was going to make it into a Fishing/Ski boat for the family and friends, that is why I enclosed the front end. I was going to put in a detachable seat up front, but never got that far. I bought a canoe for now, and just want to sell my boat. So, if you want to take a look at it, PM me. Hope you can start it better than me.I know it wont be expensive to get this thing back on the water. I'm selling it for the price of the trailer and the boat alone. If I do end up getting it fixed, the price is going up to $3000 if I even intend to still sell it then. If you end up buying it, I will throw in some life vests, anchor, and a tow rope, and a 2 person tube for the friends and kids. I also had brand new trailer tires with only 10 miles on them. Do get me wrong we had some great summers in this boat. It's a good boat, no leaks. Let me know. $1750. Thanks
Will post pics next post.

Well this shouldn't last long at this price. Would make a great boat for the family. Some one buy this boat and take the kids to the lake for some fun. At this price you can't really do much better.

Good luck sir, I wish you better with your next boat

Hopefully so, thanks Big Jake. I was just thinking I'd put it on here before Craigslist because I know alot of young people don't have $4k to drop on a boat. It's a little older, but it ran great the summer before I put it in the side yard. It gets up to around 45MPH in the water. We had her flying at LL.

Sorry been really busy. Still have it, and Price is now $1350 with all the goodies. Well worth just the trailer and the boat for that price. Even cheaper than some john boats on here. But will go twice as fast! thumb lol Let me know if you have any questions. Have all documents.

Sorry Guys and Gals, been out of town for the last few months. Got laid off from the job, went to see family. I had it for sale here and on craigslist. Re-posting on both today. Have to get rid of it. Have a new 14" trailer that needs to take it's place. Posting here for $800 firm for you guys. $900 on CL. Mind you, the gas has been sitting in for almost a year, so the tank will need to be drained, and the carbs cleaned for sure. It will need a new wire harness posibly($150) which is easy to put on. And a tune up ($250), and eventually new carpet. The weather had it's way with the carpet the last few months. The person who owned it before me didn't even use the right carpet. They used that porch astro-turf cr@p. But you, get the boat (4-6 person), the motor 150HP Merc., and the trailer. Which again the trailer is $900 by itself. Trailer has new lights, and new tires. Only a few miles on the tires. All for $800. And I'll throw in all the fire extinguishers, some life vests, water skis, and 2 person tow-tube. Would be a great boat for the family and friends this spring and summer. This is a great deal so the price is firm. Let me know. thumb

Does anyone know nighthob? I've been trying to get a hold of him to take a look at the boat but i know he's been busy. If you've got his contact info, I'm really interested in buying this boat. Thanks in advance.
