Yes we do. We don't sell the plastic-headed, pieces of junk that are in the big box stores.

We have full lines of Ansul, Kidde, and Amerex Extinguishers. They are UL listed and rated for Heavy Industrial use. If you have any type of fire, we have an extinguisher for that purpose.

We also have all options for mounting the extinguishers for different applications.

Do you inspect them annually or does the buyer have to contact someone else?

I do annual inspections on hand-held extinguishers and semi-annual inspections on Fire Suppression Systems.

Just out of pure curiosity, I have a 10 lb fire extinguisher that was last inspected in 1972. Could it be reinspected and still used or just leave it as a decoration as it has been all these many years?

Well, here is your "If Then"

Assuming we are talking about a dry-chemical extinguisher -

-if there is no obvious damage to the unit
-if the gauge says their is still pressure in the unit
-if the powder slides from one end to the other when turned upside down and tapped gently with a hammer
-if the horn or hose isn't dry-rotted and is still attached to the neck of the unit
-if the hose or horn isn't clogged with a 39 year-old dirt dauber nest

IF all of those criteria are met, THEN there is a REASONABLE ASSURANCE that the unit will work.

IF this unit is a CO2 or Soda Acid unit, THEN don't even think about trusting it.

Is it the Mfg "Kidde" or "General"?

It's at the lake house...I believe the tag read ABC.

I am not sure what type of extinguisher it is. Phil Burleson (the attorney for Jack Ruby) owned my house for about 20 years and the extinguisher was brought to the house back in 1972. It shows to still be fully charged and looks to be in perfect condition. When I go down there this week, I'll get you all the pertinent information.

If it has a tag on it, I'd like to know the Company's name and the licensee name and license on the tag, if you can still read them.

I'm always interested in old tags. I like to see the old companies and guys in this industry that came before me.

Some antique fire extinguishers have very pretty copper plates on them. A business where I worked had a very pretty one. The store opened in the 1890's and may date back to that time. I believe their extinguisher company inspected it and made sure it was operational just like the new ones in the store.
