Hey guys. I just recently discovered Old Lewisville Dam. Cool spot, but is the right time of year to fish there?

First outing there bagg'd 2 nice blues, and what I believe was a hybrid. Been there twice since the first time and not a damn single bite...

Sad... *tear

i like that spot in the winter time for the big blues, i also hooked up onto something HUGE that felt like when i "swooped" the circle hook it was like hooking onto a train!! broke the gears on my reel.... my guess is that i had the lake record flattie on my hook.. dam thing gives me nightmares still

I was out there during may and the sandies were going crazy because the shad were spawning. The shad have left now, so I doubt that it will be as good.

Im heading out there saturday with a few people.. Its supposed to be kinda windy... Im hoping that this one area is not fenced off for the wind to hit us the right way. There is a couple good spots out there though. we'll see how we do.

I am new to Texas and well I did not know of a old dam.
sounds like a place to try some fishing at.

Well, its monday now. Got out there pretty early Sat. and stayed too long. Met up with SLOW-N-STEADY... Pretty nice guy. I also brought a friend with me... I call him my fish'n Gu-Ru. We caught only one in the first spot then headed out to the end of the dam and My buddy caught 2 more there... not too big of ones, but keepers. After S-N-S left, I caught about a 5pounder and then a 1 pounder... both blues. Had a good day but should have been more fish on our poles. I also missed 2... do those count?

I have a picture with them swimming in my kids kiddie pool with my foot next to the big one... Ill post the pic. tonight or tomorrow.
