Restoring factory defaults would have corrected any setting issue. Can you hear if the transducer is pinging?

While you are checking stuff, check to see if the transducer plug is fully inserted in the transducer port or even attached at all.

If you can operate them on different frequencies to avoid cross-talk.
The Helix uses 200 kHz all the time regardless of settings for the Depth readout. It also uses 455 kHz for Imaging.
You would have to use the Lowrance at 83 kHz 2D and 800 kHz Scan.

Same transducer whether it is the newer CHIRP model G2 or G2N or original generation 1.

It comes with the XNT 9 SI 180 T Compact SI transducer.

It will perform better with a XHS 9 HDSI 180 T transducer since that one is 2" longer, has longer SI crystals which produce a thinner Imaging pulse and sharper images. It won't give the unit the 800 kHz capability though.

44 DIESEL and Wayne, thanks for the help,..after crawling upsidedown under my console I found the connector had come off, and flopped up over a wire bundle.
At my age that was a feat in itself,..again thanks.

Next question, I have a Ranger 188 Aluminum, is there a HD shoot-thru transducer for my Helix 7.

Hope I'm posting this in the correct forum. I just bought a boat with 2 helix 9 units from another part of the country. What should I do to update them to areas I fish? Can I still get updates using the hummingbird website?

If you are asking about maps for the unit you can get lakemaster or navionics for your area. Here in Texas its gonna be lake master mid south or navionics south. Each one has different features just have to look and see which features you want

As far as updates you can register the used units in your name on the Humminbird website. Once the units are registered the updates will show up in you account then you download them to an SD card. Then you will be able to update the units

Switching from Lowrance to Humminbird, just ordered 2 Solix from TW!! Do I️ need the SM3000 black box to network bow and console units? I️ assume I️ only need that to get engine data??
