I should have my boat legal by the end of the week.
You tell me when you can go, since it's hot we should try for the morning or late evening bite.

I would like to start by finding the right place for a crankbait.
Maybe pulling out to deep water and find a "alley" that runs along the edge of the weeds or a drop off. Find a crankbait that will run along the bottom all the way back to the boat. We know swimbaits and swimjigs can be run on the bottom pretty easy.
I also have a few drop shot tricks to try.

Direct boats said they mailed the paper work yesterday.
They shipped the boat from Georgia so I assume the paper work comes from there.

Well, I am definately game. I live in denton and dont get to fish too much like I would like to... but could probably swing an evening trip whenever I need to. I dont have too many bass gear if any, most of mine are for crappie and cats. I usually dont fish for bass for the simple reason that I want to eat what I catsh... that being said, I never stop hearing what good fun it is to feel a toad just wearing you out... I have my own poles, and mainly jigs... I put my boys down for bed around 6:30 or so, so anytime after that Im game.

Also, I didnt see that you have a motor... If you dont use a motor, you dont need to tag the boat. If you just use paddles, then you can go whenever you want... If you need a motor, I have a 45 or 55lb minkota in my closet at the house. I also have a bass buster, but its at my dads house up north. So, I dont mind bringing it out with me for some useage.

I talked to a guy last night that caught a 17" crappie at that lake up by Walmart.
I got a pretty sweet crappie trick that I will show you.
I should get the paper work today.

I know one thing, if you use a swimjig remember that the bass might just hit it as you lift it outa the water next to the boat.
They will freak out as much as you do crashing in to the boat.
Also, dang near every fish today came outa the water at least once.

would prefer to throw back any fish we catch to keep pond fun, unless it's a monster

I went to a new pond today, I caught two bass, both 19" and fat. I found the creek channel in the middle of the pond and found both of them right on the edge of the drop.
I never keep any of the bass I catch, never have.
Now crappie on the other hand ...
