I have 2 at the moment (redfish pattern and a white and black graphic design/tribal pattern kind of thing) that get worn the most. Also have a Columbia Omni-Freeze version.

I'm a ginger, so I have to wear this stuff. I'm usually pretty easy to spot... The guy wearing long pants, long sleeve shirt, buff, and my namesake hat, and sometimes even gloves. Plus I put on SPF 100 just for good measure.

I hear ya about the sunscreen sucking but I rate it right up there with bug spray! I hate to use either but I don't like to cover up my face either.. I guess I'll need to get over all that if I want to keep my good looks into my old age.. may be too late already wink Do you feel like a bandit when wearing that mask?

I just bought the "urban camouflage - shark/fish" pattern a couple of weeks ago... thought it was urban camoflage til I got it home and laid it out and saw that the different colors were different shapes of fish. Cool! I wear it on every trip now, mainly to protect my neck and that little patch behind both ears that gets sunburned and HURTS, but it will be just as awesome in the winter to keep the wind/cold off my nose and ears.

Wash them once and you are good. Spent a week at falcon wearing one and never got burned. THey are also great when you dunk them in the ice chest and put them back on.

I have to get some gloves next.

Yep I love them, my wife and I have about 10-12 and there are so many ways to wear them that one of us always has one on. I wear it to work everyday, it keeps my hair out of my face and then just pull it down on the sunny days at the lake and it keeps the sun off. Love them!

I love the gloves too by the way, I've been wearing them all year because I got a pair for Christmas. No more sunburned hands.

I am a HUGE fan of the Magellan gear they sell at academy its cheap and just as good as the really exspensive tech gear that the big names sell. mangrove gloves a buff and quick dry zip off short pants are my friend.

well, you have to show up with a member catch a fish, unless your in a 12 step program or your under 21 you will probably have to drink a beer...you must also be able to embrace your inner jackazz.

Most important you can't let you ego get in the way of your fishing and having a good time. We are more about having a good time then about besting the guy fishing by our side its the reason that information tends to flow freely with-in our silly group.

also wearing one of these buff thingies improves your street cred.

I had my first basal cell carcinoma cut off the top side of my right hand last year.

It was from fishing and working outside since 1972.

I am fine now, but it would have sucked if it would have been on my face.

They are comfortable? They don't look like it. I guess I could try one out. Though I usually go without any sunscreen. Big time farmer's tan on me by the start of summer.

I ordered one direct from Buff. Just used it in a tournament last week and it never bothered me. At 40 I can see the results of not wearing one for years. I'll have it on anytime I'm on the water for and extended amount of time and it's sunny. Still use sunblock though.
