Whatcha think from Sabine Lake to Port Isabel?? Hows Rockport match up? Were looking to rent a house on the water for vacation but I want to be able to catch fish close by. Any advice is appreciated.

Forgot to mention we'll have a 20ft CC Bayboat, and maybe a big pontoon to play on. I've done my share of surf fishing in Virginia. Were looking to be out on the water more so shore access inst as big of deal.

Loc: Probably not where you think
Which is closer to you? Sabine or Rockport?
If time isnt a problem, I'd opt for Rockport, myself. Lots of places to take that little 20 footer and you can ease on down to Port A for some other stuff to do.

Rockport/Port Aransas area is excellent. Lower Laguna Madre down by The King Ranch is awesome. Absolute best on the gulf coast is Venice, La. though.

Port O'Connor further N can be good too, but the water gets prettier the further south you go.

They are clear across the state from me..... LOL I might could get a little further away and still be in Texas but not by much. smile

Rockport is my front runner choice atm. Lots of houses with calm water right out of the back door.

That's where I'd go then, Raiderland. Love Rockport! Oh, be sure and ask the guys in the Inshore Section, too. THey may know some cool out-of-the-way hotspots. It just dawned on me where you live and that's a looooong drive to ANY salt rolfmao

I love Coco Marina more, but Rockport/PA are a safe bet much closer to "RedRaiderland"

Wish I could make it tococodrie again, it's been like 10 years. Hell, I would love to fish anywhere on the LA coast
