Are you using double uni or what and on my c-rigs I use a swivel between my main line and leader try that and problem solved.

I am fishing with braid(4 lb.-10 lb.)+fluorocarbon leader(6 lb.-15lb.) using clinch knot without problem.

I use 65# power pro for my C-rig main line. It's great for both sensitivity and strenth. Then use a mono leader.
