I think its great that this many women are interested in fishng. I couldn't get my ex wife to go fishing to save my life. I do however have a beautiful 6 yr old little girl that just loves to fish and is my number one fishing partner. Keep up the good work ladies.

Brandon, I have to say this about it. My mom and dad never took me fishing but mom's parents did and they went alot. My husband and I found we have this in common and go 4-5 days a week and for the last 31 years we have drug our kids to every pond, creek and lake we could find. And out of three children, not one of them liked it.

Then, a few months ago, my 20 yr old daughter who despised fishing, asked to borrow a rod and reel and some soft plastics and off she went with her boyfriend. They've been pond fishing several times together and then just this last weekend she text'd a picture of her holding a really nice crappie. She was bragging of course, but imagine the jubilation I felt knowing once she feels and enjoys the thump, she'll never despise it again. I'm ecstatic! So take your kids when they want to go and sometimes even when they don't.

My family didn't believe in outdoor activities and always sent me to camp for the entire summer to get it out of my system. I wish I'd had a dad that liked to fish, or do anything else outdoors with me for that matter. I'm lucky enough to have a bf that loves fishing and is teaching me.

Way to go dad! Keep spending that awesome time with your daughter (especially while she's young enough to still want to)!

My dad had me fishing when I was a little kid. Loved it my whole life. I started out with a cane pole, and then graduated to an actual rod and reel. Now I even fly fish.

My Dad is a major outdoorsman and he I went hunting, hiking, and fishing with him every chance I could. He had 3 girls, and I was the only one to catch the outdoor bug.

On any given day no matter what I am doing, I can promise you if I'm not out there fishing in some great little spot I found by hiking through the woods - then I wish I were. I now take my nephew fishing whenever I can. He's only 5, but he's already caught the bug to fish... now if I can just get him to bait his own hook... wink

I agree with you Brandon. it is great to see so many women interested in this passion. my x-wife hated it. my new love didn't do much fishing at all until we got together, and after catfishing the bulk heads at conroe one night- she got hooked. she is constantly wanting to go fishing now and it doesn't matter if it's bass, crappie, cats, or the bay she just wants to go. i have bought her more rod, reels, and tackle than i have bought myself in the last 6 months and it's great !

Where in Indiana? There are some beautiful places up that way. Have relatives in LaPorte. Gorgeous lake. Never had a chance to fish in it though.

My wife of 30 yrs has fished with me for most of those years, but bored quickly and would set down and read a book. I would sometime have to almost beg to get her to go, UNTIL, I took her to Falcon lake 20+ times this spring. I created a monster! She can't wait to get back down there this fall. Her best bass so far is a 7.5 lbs on an All American worm rod with a Zebco 33 real and 14 lb fluorocast. We crappie fished a few times and she caught a 3.6 lb crappie. We didn't realized until after we ate it that it was a lake record crappie on Falcon. Oh well, we've got pics that will last a lifetime.

My BF has been promising to take me to Falcon. I"m already hooked on fishing and the water....might never get me home from Falcon once we finally go!

I fished with my parents a few times as a kid. We didn't really know what we were doing, but always had fun.
Hadn't fished much over the years, but started back this summer. My husband and I go fishing no less than once a week. We now have a boat which makes it even more fun. I totally love being on the water and fishing.
Now to get hubby to agree to go again tomorrow.

Maybe I'd catch more if I said "here fishie, fishie!" What lakes are you fishing?
