This guy sounds like he has a nice place. Wish I was closer. Not sure if any memberships are still available.

After looking at your site, I have a question...After paying a almost $600 membership fee, why would I have to pay another day fee, $35-$150, to fish these lakes? What's the $600 for? Am I reading the site wrong?

You are reading it correctly. We could price it as one big up front fee or pay as you go. Most people prefer pay as you go. Having a smaller initial fee than any other club allows you to pay less down and pay as you fish. The annual fee for subsequent years drops to $285. Unless you plan to fish every weekend, we find that doing it this way is a more fair way. You also can fish all 70 of our lakes. Fishing one private lake can get boring to some; no matter how good the fishing is. Lastly, when you reserve a lake it is yours and yours exclusively for the day. No other members will be on the lake with you.

I could see paying the upfront fee of $600 for a year, and renewing at $285 too..... but I have small children who want to fish too, and I can't justify spending a few more hundred for them when kids attention spans are so short anyways.

So how does the exclusivity work. If you can reserve a lake and no other memeber can use it that day, it makes me wonder how many memebers you have and how far in advance you would need schedule.

We want to see children involved in the outdoors. Consequently,
children 12 and under fish for free. Children 13-17 fish for 1/2 price. Since most lakes are $35.00 for a 1/2 day; which is as long as most any kid can handle. There is not much a dad can do with two kids (12 and under) for 6 to 8 hours for $35.00.

Most of our reservations are made the day of or within 48 hours of the trip. With the exception of two lakes in the Spring; the schedule stays pretty open. Even in the busiest weekends of the year; we generally have 1/2 of the properties open. For example, only 19 of the 70 lakes are reserved for this weekend. Like anything else, the more productive lakes get reserved first. You can visit our web-site and read the fishing reports section to read about what lakes are being fished and what is being caught. Moreover, we have an on-line reservation which allow you to book 24 hours a day; 7 days a week. Once you become a member, you can see what is booked. We allow days of rest between trips; so often it may appear that a lake is booked; but the reality is that we allow our lakes to rest between trips. We have an 87% renewel rate; 94% of the time someone stops their membership is because they moved or change in lifestyle (not interested in fishing anymore or too busy to fish) As you can tell, we keep stats on lots of different things. We have added 9 new properties already in 2011. In fact, 2 new ones will open this week. I expect top open another 2 lakes within the next 30 days.

Great question and one that is often asked.

This isnt like my Dads deer lease where im constantly frowned at for being 20, is it?

I go camping probably 10 times a year annd this would just be awesome. The 600/285/day fee is respectable, lots of people shell out tons more for less attractive hunting/fishing leases.

It is not frowned upon at all. As long as you are respectful, using common sense and follow our rules and code of conduct (which you must read and approve, prior to joining) then it is all good. Unlike a tradtional hunting lease, you will not meet other members at the lake, because the lake is yours and yours alone for the day that you reserve.

Steve, I sure wish you had more to offer in Oklahoma. Anything pending in the near future?

Sorry, Nothing yet. Honestly, we are building our Houston and Austin areas. We have added 3 new lakes in these areas in the past 2 months. We have a couple more to add in the next 60 days.

Oklahoma is probably a year or two away.

I had no idea something like this existed!!! Being a female angler who usually fishes alone and loves to fish out of my little bass buster, I think I may have found my own personal version of paradise in your website. Totally Stoked!!! LOL!!!

Only those become weary of angling who bring nothing to it but the idea of catching fish.
