Put in 2 hours in at a local venue which many of you will recognize the background. It's produced a bunch for me over the last year and I really enjoy fishing it. I needed a bullhead for the multispecies so I loaded up my buzzbars from my pod, banksticks, 2 rods, and the alarms, buttrests, and swingers. I planned on doing a short session just to check on how it was fishing, maybe get a bullhead. I packed light and brought just PVA and some simple stuff and rigged up.
Got to the swim at 6:20 and set up the "Mini pod" and started fishing my 2 rods. I threw some range cubes out just to get them in the area. I think about 30 minutes passed and I got a jerky run. Bullhead! It just happened to be a yellow bullhead, there's very few of these in here!

I posted it because it's another species
I reset the rod then had a run on the other rod. Fish on!

I had a pretty good sized crowd watching me fight this fish! Turned out to be a 12 on Banana maize, which is producing great at the cliffs right now. I'm on a streak!
I had another run on the same rod about 20 minutes later.
Yet another on banana maize. This one was a little over 10
Here's the setup I fished today. Pretty simple but still euro style set up.

I was going to end the day right here, but something made me walk over to a rockpile and cast the pink crappie jig on my ultralight by the rocks. 2nd cast I saw a large wake behind the jig but it turned at the last second. I casted back. WHAM! something big slammed it. I fought it gently in. Check out the new
soon to be water body record Largemouth Bass!
I wasn't going to go for it, you guys know how much I hate sending in records, BUT this is a record i've been trying for for about 5 years so I went ahead and decided to go for it. I dug through my bag. Whhhhhat? no tape measure? I called Mom and she said she'd bring me a tape measure! I stuck the fish in the landing mat and filled it with water. Then my banana maize rod unexpectedly got a run! I decided to submit this fish for a record too, and Mom showed up to net it for me. YESS!

We then got all the requirements taken care of and released the fish.
Bass- 19.5 inches long, 14 inch girth, 4.25lbs(Boga)
Carp- 27 inches long, 18 inch girth, 12.50lbs(Boga with mat subtracted)
I have about 5 more of each fish for weight, girth, and length. I don't want to post them, so check them oue on my flickr or on my blog when I post it.
