Really cool Realbigreel! I somehow got on the converstaion of some your builds with my dad last night and he told me a story of when he was a boy right after WW2 him and a friend made two kayaks out of spruce wood for the frames and wrapped them with canvas and coated with something he couldn't remember to stop the leaks. He said they took them for a 3 day trip down the river Thames and they did fine. If people think styrofoam is weak try oil coated canvas in the 1940's. Great job on your builds and keepem coming.

Caught my first fish from a kayak in a SOF (Skin On Frame) back in about 1964 if I remember correctly. It was a 4 lb Steelhead.

Very impressive build!

I know from my R/C flying days that anything that is glassed properly is strong!

This is something I would love to try someday - have a hankering to build something that is useful and not what everyone else has!

The difference between winners and losers:
Winners blame themselves for their failures and strive to get better.
Losers blame everybody else and give up.

Had SANDY out for the first time.

Paddled about a mile before I got into any fish. This undersize was SANDY's first slime.

Then I caught a keeper, just barely.

A couple of fish later I caught one a little better

I caught a Crappie in there (yeh while trolling!).

Caught sever Hybrids during the day including 1 that was 17.75". Just no way to stretch it to 18".
Out in open water. I caught a 20" Hybrid. This fish put up a good fight. I knew it was a keeper by the way it pulled drag

Continued to catch good fish.

20" Hybrid, 12" Crappie and 21 White Bass, about 50 fish total. Not bad for a first trip out in this boat
Covered several miles.
Found a small leak under the seat frown It will be easy enough to fix. No other leaks.
SANDY handled well. A little more wiggle waggle than I was looking for but not enough to do anything about. Even with no front hatch cover and a wind up to 15, no water got in the front hatch. Water in the foot deck was manageable with a bailing sponge. Water gets there every time I put a fish in the cooler.
The Surf to Summit Expedition seat was not all that comfortable. Certainly not 200 bucks worth.

I could only dream of having the free time to do that. Pretty awesome! What was total cost of materials for this project?

Not counting the seat a little over 300 bucks. The seat was 225.
If I had it to do over again I would do a built in seat like HYBRID has.
