I noticed a pond in, I think Euless, in one of those detailed map books. Also found in in the aerial view of mapquest. It seems to be just behind Bob Eden park which is on Cheek-Sparger just east of 121. Does anyone know if there is access to this pond? I'm gonna go scout it out this afternoon.

FBT,

This is probably the same pond. I hiked up from the park the other day and checked it out. There are a couple of houses on it but about 3/4 of it are open. They are building several roads around it so I'm sure it is about to be developed. For now I saw no signs and there were alot of well used paths so some people appear to be fishing it. I just checked it out a little, but it seemed to have alot of scum in it. You know the kind that shows up in ponds that have very little circulation. Otherwise, it looked pretty fishy. Did you have a luck on it?

I was on the tpwd site and found that there is a community lake in Hurst you might be interested in. It is part of the Neighborhood fishing program, they stock 12 inch channel cats every two weeks from mid April till November.

I hit the pond at Wilshire park in south Euless after work today, I fished about an hour. I ended up landed three little bass all where around 12-14" and bucks. I "hooked" one more but failed to land it. It was better than the rest, I did get a chance to see it and it looked to be about to be a two pounder. There where a bunch of bass fry swimming around the grass.

That pond at Bob Eden has some good bass in it but I was run off of it one day and told next time they will posecute. It's private and they check it regularly. It's OK fishing on some days but not worth a ticket.

Yeah I know that Bob Eden pond has some good size fish in it...But yes you are right they will run you off. I fish that pond a lot before they put the development in and also when it was being built. What a shame.

yea I was looking at a map and noticed that same pond went to check it out and there are signs saying that its private and access is only allowed by people that live there or if you have permissin from someone who does.

there are plenty of great ponds in the area if you look. I like Chisolm Park but I think my favorite is Colleyville Nature Center. There is also another one by my house that is the best pond ever but sorry there is no way im telling where it is. I never see anybody fishing it and the bass are giant and I can catch a ton of them. Just get on google earth or something and just look you will find alot of ponds and some of them never get fished but have huge bass populations.

There is a pond on the south side of I30 between Fielder and Eastchase that produces big bass. In 1992 I could catch a 5lb. fish or 2 every time I went. Just like Bob Eden they built houses around it, and you have to know a home owner to fish it. I used to scout out good public places to fish off the beaten path all the time. Now I fish the American Fish & Game Club waters. It makes a big difference when you fish a new body of water and know it has good fish versus not being sure. You can't beat catching 12" bluegill and having a shot at bass in the teens.

Stin did you ever catch anything over 4 lbs at Bob Eden ? All I ever caught out there was between 1.5 and 4 lbs. nothing bigger and nothing smaller.

No, I had about the same luck as you had. I really feel that with a small bass buster boat it would up the odds for bigger fish.
