Just as i get all my reels loaded, I am wondering if I really like it. For sure, I like the strength, lack of memory and especially the sensitivity, but I seem to get a lot of tangles. Loops around the end of my rod when I am jigging or trying to get a hung up jig loose. And if I get a backlash on my casting reel (ardent 1000) I'm finished with that set up for the day.

just me or do some of you have the same problems?

this happened to me when I first started using it. Every now and then it still happens but not as much as before. Seems after using a while it softens up and does not have the same stiffness.

Love it.

Only problem I ever had was when I loaded about 200 yards onto an abu 6600. Yeah that didn't work out so well as I quickly found out there's such a things as too much line on a reel. I spent a whole afternoon sawing it off the spool after having just putting it on literally 24 hours earlier.

Are you using the right rod?

Here's the deal with Power Pro. Great Line, strong stuff! BUT, the reason you are having problems is because it is not Plug and Play! Out of the box, it is stiff with a protective outer coating. This will relax with time. The line actually gets more limp as you use it, but not during your time in the boat that day. If you want plug and play, get Sufix 832. Awesome line, but expensive, so don't spool it without a backer. AND put a tape on the spool befr the backer to prevent it from slipping.

I don't have problems with power pro that being said its because I'm use to it. I've tried other braids and pp is the only one I like it does take about a day to break in I guess after that its money!

You prolly need to some changing on your reel settings. I can't remember ever backlashing power pro.

I've never had any problems with power pro. as said above, you may just need to make a small adjustment to your reel

I have used Power Pro since it came on the market with no problems. On your Ardent reel try tightning your cast control just a tad tighter than you normally do.

I don't have problems with backlash and I didn't when it was brand new, but it does get all kinds of tangled and wrapped over it self and around eyes when i'm flipping.

Try Suffix 832 Performance Braid if you're having problems with PP. It's the only braid I have found that fishes well.

I switched to Power Pro last fall for my spinning reels and really like it. Would like to have opinions on the best all round lb. test for bass and saltwater? I currently use 50 lb test.

first off, ive never fished in salt water, that being said, ill only comment on bass fishing, if you wanted just one lb test id go with either 15-20
