The bass are fully bedded up right now especially in the south side lake. But as to be expected they are getting hammered. Two of them over 6 lbs were caught this evening, from what some ppl today have said a 9.5 was caught and weighed yesterday from the north side lake.

Drove by there a few times by haven't tried it yet. Can you just park along the street? Doesn't look like you can.

What are the water temps there right now? All the local ponds I fish in the area are still a week or two away from females getting on beds. Water is still a bit too cold.

If they can see you they are gone. Catchable...but you gotta work for it. Dead sticking a weightless worm has worked for me.

Ponds like beltline and garland rd, twin lakes, stonebridge, and so on the bass have been bedding up for two weeks now. At twin lakes for every 10 yards there was clearly a well defined nest.

So thats what ya'll are catching there. I work at the station at park vista and renner. I see people there all the time now, just didn't know what they were catching. Talked to one guy that parks at the fire station and walks in, he said he was catching crappie, but that was last year. May have to take my fishing stuff to the station and go when I get off duty.

I agree - I would not want to be a fish in those ponds!

That place gets slammed. I fish there pretty often but once I catch one or two I will leave. Every time I am there, there are at least 5 or 6 others fishing. These lakes do have big fish in them, but 90% of the people who fish there have no idea how to practice safe catch and release, and they just want to catch everything that swims in there. I was there today bed fishing and there were 11 other people fishing on the same pond. It was amusing. Caught a few and left.

Also, somebody needs to go out and shoot all those water turkeys out there. They are going to decimate the fish population. Poor little ponds won't stand a chance against 7 or 8 of those things.
