I have never needed a cart. I just back up close to the water everywhere I go kayaking.

You are a lucky guy! Several places I go are a long hike to the water from where you can park.

Most the boat ramps i launch from are a really short walk. But i want to make a cart so im not dragging it on concrete for 20 yards to get in and out

I have used mine every weekend since i built it and have had no issues yet. I like the milkcrate one also, but it seems to not have much of a clearance to the wheels.

Wow I'm just primitive here i don't want to spend the extra $150+ dollar for the kart for my kayak so i just man handle the 64 pounds of it to the water. Mainly only sucks on a decent hike to the water, thankfully most places i can almost drive my car to the water line. That's a nice little home project there too and to think I was all proud of my homemade gear leashes

I used to just manhandle mine as well until I tried to carry it down the hill when I went to the brazzos. Actually down the hill in the morning was fine, it was carrying it back up the hill after 10 hours on the water that nearly killed me LOL. I came home and started on the cart. Now I don't need to carry it anywhere and find that I can load everything in it and pull it to the launch nd not have to worry about where I park.
