Does anyone know where the nearest Lund dealer is around DFW area? Looking for a good crappie boat and like the Lund 1625/1725. Have any other suggestions on type of boat to buy will be helpful. I'm still shopping around.

The nearest one is in Waco. Another one in Houston. One in Oklahoma.

Advantage Marine had to close...his building got flooded last year during one of the storms and the City of Sasche would not let him open it back up. He moved to OK and opended up a boat maintenance shop. Not sure if he was going to start dealing in boats again. Jeff

Since you asked for other suggestions, take a look at the G3. Plano Marine has them and they've been in business since 1951; family owned and operated.

The main store is located at 1105 Ave K in Plano, TX 972-423-3134|800-333-3134 and in northeast Texas is Plano Marine of Longview is located at 1705 E Whaley St. Longview, TX phone: 903-753-3515.

Good folks. Mention Crappie Anglers of Texas.

Good luck with your search.

Isaw a guy in An 18 and a half foot deep vee G-3 Yesterday, I asked him how he liked it and he said it was worth every nickel of the 25 grand he payed for it. He had a big yamama on it, the back was really squatting and the bow was risen quite a bit while sitting. either a weight dist issue or too much motor, nice boat ..

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I crossed Big Sam Rayburn today into the wind howling apx 35 and waves 3+ feet high in my 2000 LUND 1650 Explorer and enjoyed every minute of it (with 25 slabs in the livewell). It's a miricle to me how they got a boat that size to handle rough water that well. I never got a drop on me and it didnt beat up my old back and kidneys. Its a wonderful boat and I really love it. Also, it is very roomy unlike most boats under 17 feet and still has lots of storage.
With a 50 HP Honda 4stroke and I thought when I bought it that I would have to buy the rated 75hp later on but I have no intention of doing that after over a year of steady use. The IPS hull is so easy to plane that it does great with that 50. it never lugs when slugging thru the waves and I get about 9 miles per gallon (gps milage so it is accurate). Do what ever you have to do and get a LUND. You will not regret it.

Look at G3's at Plano Marine. Much better boat and local. Talk to Tommy Lassiter. Any questions, my name's Donny and my number is (972) 509-2933. I'll take you a ride in a real boat.

Looked at G3 when I bought my Lund and wouldn't change a thing. I have the 17' Crappie Edition with a 115 4-Stroke and love it!

G3 Weighs more and mostly because they double wall everything and not just were it's needed. Lund has been make that style boat for ever and know what they are doing. The lay out is great with the gas tank mid boat in the floor and the batteries for you TM is also right there in the floor where it's easy to get to them.

In the end, both make a good boat, but I wouldn't trade my Lund for a G3 and just my opinion.

See pic below...

This picture is several years old, but it's now hanging in them slings because the water is so low I can't get out, LOL!

I LOVE MY LUND. I have shopped around eveytime I have traded boats which according to wife is way too often. Everytime, I keep coming back to Lund. Best bang for the buck. Currently on my third Lund and presently have the Fisherman Model which is the old TYEE body is wider and with higher sides then most boats.
It handles the roughest water I ever want to go on and is a joy to fish out of. check out www.lundboats.com

I've had my 18.5' Lund for over three years now. It's my 21st boat, and in my opinion, the best one that I've owned. It'll take you wherever you want to go comfortably and dry. It's very stable, whether running or fishing, and built like a tank. It's not the fastest thing on the water (my 150 will push it 50 mph with two people), but I've never caught a crappie going too fast either. Spend the money, take the drive, and buy a Lund.
