Talk about a fish that's called trash and doesn't get much respect! But I love catching drum. You can't beat the first strike.

The way that their faces look is cool too, they look so mello. Like "hey, what's up man."

Ft. Phantom has a good population of Drum. And yes, they are mad about crayfish! They are great fighters...

we should all have that on our PB tag line. next time i catch one I will add it on there

Here's a beastly drum I caught off of the plant runoff at lavon. I think I was pondbass's age when I caught this. I have yet to see one bigger. I got him on a crawfish rattle trap.

My son caught this at Stillhouse with a carolina rigged live perch.

Really got into them the other day in Marble Falls. First time for my girlfriend to really get into the fish while fishing with me. She had a blast, all around 16-18 inches couple of pounds. I was not too sure bout cleaning or eating them so I shut down the party after half a stringer. Told her we would come back for more once we figured out cleaning and cooking them. She wanted to keep ketchin, had to remind her they each come with CLEANING!! A few nice long ear and channels too.. Came home cleaned them up ( ate salt water drum all my life) Appearance of meat very much reminded me of the color of Kingfish meat, kinda got that grey color to it. anyway, ther're in the freezer, maybe find out today how they are.

I have caught the good ol gaspergoo a number of times while not targeting them. Was fishin with minnows when I had no clue how to fish and caught a flathead cat, 6 grinnel/bowfin, and a gaspergoo.

Then at Texoma this year, caught over 7 goo's using live shad fishin for Striper and Smallmouth.

They are fun to catch!

Got this one yesterday on a #3 Mepps Black Fury in the Colorado River.
Not huge, but 22” and probably around 5#. Good fighter!

I'm really, REALLY late, but I'm here. Caught @ the Little Brazos. FW Drum are definitely one of my favorite fish to catch on the fly.

That must have been a blast on the fly! The more I see y'all use them here, the more tempted I get to buy one
