Welcome SGM!!! ...and thank you for your service!

I've been fishing the creek between Eagle Mountain and Lake Worth and doing fairly well from my little 2-man boat. I was out this past Saturday and the water wasn't flowing and still managed to catch 17 nice sized (.75lb - 1.5lb) crappie.

If you have small boat, you can put it in between the bridges on Ten-Mile Bridge Road.

Good luck!
K-F

PS - Caught most of them on Bobby Garland Baby Shad(Blue Ice) on a 1/16th oz head about 1.5'-2.0' below a bobber.

According to a report just recently release it is safe to eat crappie and bass and sandies from the Lake Worth area just don't eat the bottom feeders!
Another excellant crappie lake that hasn't been mentioned is Lake Bridgeport. It's about the same distance from Fort Worth as Ray Roberts. I fish both of them but usually do better at RR.
Welcome to the area and enjoy the many lakes around us!

MOE BANDY, K-F, burton1795, and Minnow Dauber.

I appreciate the friendly welcome and the advice on fishing in the Fort Worth area.

K-F, Minnow Dauber wrote an interesting comment about whether or not the fish in Lake Worth are good for consumption.

I read that also and I was avoiding Lake Worth altogether.

You guys are my new fishing buddies and I look forward to sharing fishing news and advice. Thanks

I usually fish at the Barge at night when it is cold. Usually there is no one else there and it is really nice. And I usually catch 3 to 1 on jigs over minnows.
